Flavours and cultures’ evening to celebrate black communities

Immerse yourself in a warm atmosphere where gastronomy, music, cinema and African and Caribbean traditions meet.

From 6 pm: savour authentic dishes from African and Caribbean cuisine, while listening to the stories and music that bring these dishes to life, concocted by members of the student community, staff and tenants in traditional dress.

From 7 pm : the evening will continue with the screening of the film Brother, starring Aaron Pierre and Marsha Stephanie Blake. This poignant drama explores the heritage, struggles and realities of black communities in Canada. Presented in the original English with French subtitles.

Want to share the flavours of your black community?
We're inviting anyone with a passion for cooking to present a traditional dish from their country of origin. A budget of $20 will be offered to each participant.
