Collège Nordique becomes a member of Association des collèges et universités de la francophonie canadienne (ACUFC)
The Association des collèges et universités de la francophonie canadienne (ACUFC) is pleased to announce that Collège Nordique has joined its network. This membership marks an important step in strengthening French-language post-secondary options in Canada's circumpolar North. Students will now have access to a broader range of post-secondary programs, which will contribute to the vitality of the Francophone community in the Northwest Territories and throughout Canada's circumpolar North.
Founded in 2011 in Yellowknife, Collège Nordique is the only accredited Francophone post-secondary institution north of the 60th parallel. It offers a wide range of training options, accessible in-person and online: post-secondary programs, and professional, language and continuing education trainings. The Collège stands out for its Northern character and its commitment to inclusion and linguistic and cultural diversity.
ACUFC members are recognized for their excellence, their personalized approach, their openness to the job market and are important economic drivers in the communities where they are located. The arrival of Collège Nordique strengthens the network's common mission and demonstrates the shared ambition of an accessible, engaged and deep-rooted post-secondary network.
"The addition of Collège Nordique to our network illustrates our commitment to expanding access to post-secondary education in French in all regions of the country," said Martin Normand, President and CEO of the ACUFC. "By joining the ACUFC, Collège Nordique enriches our collective capacity to train a Francophone and bilingual workforce, which is essential to meeting the needs of our Francophone minority communities, particularly in Canada's North. Our members are excited about collaborating more closely with Collège Nordique and benefit from its unique expertise.”
"It is with a great pride that Collège Nordique joins the ACUFC. This membership consolidates our place within the network of Canadian post-secondary institutions in a minority context. It reflects our commitment to the vitality of the Nordic Francophonie, while opening the door to strengthening collaborations and partnerships that will enhance our educational and cultural mission," adds Patrick Arsenault, Executive Director of Collège Nordique.
With the arrival of Collège Nordique, the ACUFC has acquired a new strategic partner that will strengthen its network so that Francophone minority communities can count on strong and agile post-secondary institutions.
